1:1 Support

Counselling & Mentoring

Proud2Be are now able to offer 1:1 support in the form of mentoring and/or counselling. This is a free service for LGBTQIA+ young people (aged 11-19) who might be:

  • experiencing homophobic, biphobic and/or transphobic bullying
  • in the process of coming out to family, friends and/or peers
  • struggling with their own identity
  • dealing with low self-esteem/lack of confidence
  • in need of someone to talk to, who is not a friend or family member

Please CLICK HERE to download a referral form. Anyone supporting a young person can make a referral into Proud2Be. Before making a referral, please talk to the young person about what is on offer and whether they would like some extra support. Young people can also self-refer into our service.

We accept referrals for 1:1 support work for any young person aged 11-19. We generally work with 11-19’s for mentoring and 13-19’s for counselling (up to 25 if the young person has SEN).

For more information, please get in touch with Jae at jae@proud2be.co.uk. Alternatively, give them a call on 01803 864321.

Peer Mentoring

Due to a recently successful funding bid to Devon Community Foundation’s ‘I Will’ fund, Proud2Be are now able to pilot a new peer mentoring programme. If you would like to access Proud2Be’s youth group and feel you may need some additional support from one of our youth mentors, then please get in touch with jules@proud2be.co.uk.

School Counsellor

I recently had my final counselling session with a pupil who you came into school to see. He told me how meeting you had such a positive impact on how he was feeling at that time. I wanted to say a huge thank you for reaching out to him at a time when he needed some answers.
